General Question about Keeper Draft, WHIR - post your link!

Postby FantasyStud » Tue Mar 03, 2009 12:46 am

Hi,

I am in a 10-Team Keeper League, 5x5 categories, 23 positions. Each team is allowed to keep up to 10-players. Keepers were decided last week, and our draft is upcoming.

My team currently looks like:

C-
1B-Ryan Howard
2B-
SS-Jose Reyes
3B-
OF-Magglio Ordonez
OF-Jacoby Ellsbury
OF-Curtis Granderson
OF-
OF-
UTL-Miguel Cabrera (not 3B eligible)
UTL-

P-CC Sabathia
P-John Lackey
P-Franciscio Rodriguez
P-Joakim Soria
P-
P-
P-
P-
P-
BN-
BN-

As prospects, my team has David Price (P), Matt Wieters (C), and Carlos Carasco (P) - all of whom can be called up at any time.

My question is simple. If you were building a team around these players, what kind of players would you try to target in the draft? Hitting? Pitching? Speed? Power? What position? Etc.

All help is appreciated, and if you post your link, I'll respond!

Thanks!

1st thing you need is a 3rd baseman, preferably with POWER.

I'd definitely go for the best player available, but just in general, I'm wondering what area you all think I should concentrate on; either a particular position or stat category.

As for 3B, the "best" 3B available are probably Aubrey Huff and Chone Figgins. I feel that I'd be able to get a top 2B or top OF over an elite 3B.

Any other thoughts are appreciate, and please post your links as well!

Since we don't know who else is kept, couldnt make a good list. I am taking a gamble on Alex Gordon at 3B, but I would definately go with bet available.

help with mine?

I'm bolding this just so it stands out:

Maybe you all misunderstood me. I was just asking what kinds of players I should target - not names of various players. So basically, if you were building a team around the players I listed above, what kind of players do you think I should bring in to complement my existing players? Should I target pitching or hitting? Homeruns or stolen bases? Any preferable position which I should concentrate on improving? That sort of thing.

Obviously, I'm going to draft the best players available regardless, but I was just wondering if there was a particular area where anyone felt I should concentrate on. So for example, with Joakim Soria and Francisco Rodriguez, I'm obviously set at saves, so I don't need to target a closer. That sort of thing.

Any help would really be appreciated!
