How Are My Minors

Postby Philly_05 » Tue Mar 03, 2009 12:19 am

Just about finished up with my draft and want some thoughts on how my minors are looking for this year. Probably not many players that will make a impact this year but a lot of talent and I really like all of them. Not a lot on the pitching side though.

C- Carlos Santana
1B- Yonder Alonso
SS- Wilmer Flores
3B- Mike Moustakous
3B- Brett Wallace
3B- Dayan Viciedo
OF- Matt LaPorta
OF- Jason Heyward
OF- Jose Tabata
SP- Rick Porcello
SP- Jhoulys Chacin

were u drafting against yourself? Good job but if this isn't at least a 12 team league then it doesn't matter.

Yea, I think your team really doesn't have a chance in the future based on your farm system. Maybe if you had Mike Moustakas your team would measure up.......

Oh wait a minute, you do......... :-b :*)

They are all mixed together..

I got Moustakas, Porcello, and Heyward days after they were drafted by KC, Detroit and Atlanta off our WW. I got LaPorta and Alonso in trades during last season. I then drafted the rest of the players in this years draft which was all the players who were not kept and the list of prospects available to us at this time no high school kids available. 15 keepers 12 teams before the draft 6 of the 15 keepers were minor league players.

Dayan was a 6th round choice after keeper selections
Santana was a 10th round choice after keeper selections
Chacin was a 14th round choice after keeper selections
Flores was a 17th round choice after keeper selections
Tabata was a 19th round choice after keeper selections

Oh that makes more sense. I was under the impression that you got all of those players in the draft you just had.

How did you get 3 of the best players in last years draft off the WW though? No one else claimed them?

I forget exactly how it went down but I think some people didn't claim anyone. I think the people above me claimed guys like Posey, Matusz and Smoak. I was rather deep on the wire at the point so I had put in tons of names and was kind of shocked when I got all of them.

I think I got Crow, Wallace and Tim Beckham also lol. I have since traded Beckham and cut Crow.

I honestly think you need to play in a more knowledgeable and competitive league.
