counting wins and qs?

How do people whose leagues do this like it? I always thought it was kind of redundant but when trying to find a non-trivial 7th pitching category it is always somewhat redundant.

It seems like the best reason to use QS is that you do not like Wins as a category because it is kind of trivial. I would think one or the other here.

If you want to go with 7 categories and you dislike categories that are heavily reliant on players other than the pitcher, maybe go QS, K/9, ERA, SV-BS, WHIP, and going outside the box, go OPS against RH batters, and OPS against LH batters (if you can find a site that will do all of these cats).

We will have limited stat choices unfortunately. We used to have losses. I think QS is better than losses. The nice thing about qs and wins is that that it gives starting pitchers more value without having to do something pointless like reward them simply for pitching (IP, etc). If I could make my own stat I'd like to count scoreless innings but thats not an option. When you expand the number of cats you can really damage the value of starting pitching if you do it wrong.
