Keeper conundrum/ which to keep??

Postby Shiner » Mon Mar 02, 2009 5:09 pm

I have narrowed my keepers to 9 and need opinions on which one should make the roster as # 8. The players involved are: Dan Uggla,2b,FLA and Jacoby Ellsbury,OF,BOS (they both seem to have about the same ADP from what I have read) . I finished 5th in the ten team league last year so I will be drafting 6th in each round since we institute the pro-style draft format. Here are the options at their positions:
2B
Alexei Ramirez
Robinson Cano
Chone Figgins
Kelly Johnson
Mike Aviles

OF
Magglio Ordonez
Ryan Ludwick
Jermaine Dye
Vernon Wells

So who is the better Keeper Uggla or Ellsbury ?

With what you show as being at each position, I'd say Ellsbury.

Yes, Uggla gets you power, but no average, no speed. But Alexi, Kelly and Chone are all solid 2B fantasy players. I'd be happy with any of the 3 on my team.

In that batch of OF, only Quentin piques my interest.

thanks for the reply, I noticed you said Quentin peeks your interest but,he is not available. Alot of outfielders were kept in this years crop it seems. A few more may come available when final cuts are made from 10 to 8 keepers. I really was leaning towards Ellsbury myself so you just reassured me a bit. Here is my 8 keepers incidentally:
Mark Teixeira
Brian McCann
Carl Crawford
Josh Hamilton
Jacoby Ellsbury
Brandon Webb
Cole Hamels
Ervin Santana

Sorry, I meant Ordonez... I've had Quentin on the brain.

In that scenario, definitely keep Ellsbury. You can replace Uggla no problem.

Please help with mine:
