Hamilton for Granderson & Nathan (Keeper)

Postby Tenacious D-Store » Mon Mar 02, 2009 2:24 pm

This is the first year of a 20 team keeper league 6x6 roto with OPS and Holds.(6th year of the league but first year since making it a keeper). It is a very deep league with 5 OF's and an MI and CI spot. I'm very happy with my draft, but I just received a trade offer that I am somewhat considering. I really don't think I can deal Hammy who I think is a 40+ HR threat (even to an over excited Rangers fan who actually made a decent offer).

I receive
Curtis Granderson and Joe Nathan

For
Josh Hamilton

My Team

C Nick Hundley(SD - C)
1B Paul Konerko(CWS - 1B)

Thats a tough one you could use a stud RP like Nathan and Granderson helps in steals but you may lose 15 Homers, You also have to hope Konerko, Davis, and Dunn pull through, and that Manny pulls his head out of his ass.

i'd pass, if i'm giving up the best player in the deal (by a lot) i expect a better package than that, especially when it's a 1st rounder for a 5th and 6th.

I'd also pass. I think you would need a little more to give up Hamilton.

On a side note, does any one other than myself think that Hammy can actually steal just as many bases as Granderson (if not more). Granderson may be a speedster but he doesn't steal bases much.

it all depends on whether granderson is given the green light like he was in 2007. i'm expecting he does run more and steals around 20 while hamilton steals around 10.

I rejected it, and probably knew all along that I would. Sometimes it's just nice to hear objective opinions. I'm far too big on Hamilton, and Motte is my closer of the future (hopefully). Having 2 and a half closers (half being Corpas) is already better than most teams anyway.
