Wieters trade/ADP

Postby Rhinochasers » Sun Mar 01, 2009 8:24 pm

I am in 12 team head to head keeper league...we keep 8
I have the 9th pick in the draft and I have the chance to trade up to #1. Does anyone know how high he is being drafted in keeper leagues and is it worth me trading up or should I stick at #9.
I like him but to me Wieters at #97 is a little high but who knows what others are thinking.
thanks in advance

I think trading FOR such a hyped player is very foolish, esp a catcher. I would forget it and move on. Guillermo Quiroz was also a very hyped minor league catcher. Where is he now? Where was he ever?!

It depends what you are giving up, but I would do it if its reasonable. If the top 80 or so players are already kept there may not be much difference between the #9 and #1 picks. I know it's dangerous to go after hyped rookies, but taking risks is how you win championships. What are you trading?

Who are your other keepers? What's the trade look like? Wieters at that place in a keeper isn't bad at all, but you could get him at the #9 pick depending on who you're playing with and what site you're using. How experienced are your league mates? Those with less experience tend to hold closer to the rankings of the site they're drafting from. Yahoo has Wieters ranked at 107 and ESPN has him at 184. How many of the 8 guys ahead of you are keeping catchers?
