I have picks 2, 3, and 4 in my upcoming draft. 32 players will have been kept, so the following names are my best guess at who will be available (and almost certainly one of them will be picked by the guy with pick #1).
I'm keeping Reyes, Cabrera, Hamilton, and Longoria, so I figure at least one of the three picks should be a pitcher. It's a standard 5X5 mixed roto league with OPS and Quality Starts as extra categories.
Bats:
Berkman (will be available if the guy keeps Webb instead; if so, I assume he'd be the #1 pick) Quentin Pedroia Phillips Morneau Bay Guerrero Markakis Aramis Ramirez Kemp
Arms:
Webb (will be available if the guy keeps Berkman instead) Haren Billingsley Lackey Beckett Liriano
One of Quentin, Kemp and Markakis depending on your scoring categories, Phillips/Pedroia (again, scoring categories should determine this pick) and probably Haren. If you're doing a basic 5X5, I would probably grab Kemp and Phillips along with Haren. You "guarantee" yourself about a .285 AVG, 45 HR, 180RBI, 180 R and 50 SB....not bad IMO considering the stats you already have in place with your keepers.
1st pick: flip a coin between Phillips and Pedroia 2nd pick: Vlad Rad - I like him to bounce bank in a big way and has Abreu hitting in front of him 3rd pick: flip a coin between Markakis, Quentin, and Kemp. I personally like Markakis overall, but if Manny Ramirez comes back to the Dodgers, then I think Kemp is the choice.
If you don't like Vlad Guerrero this season, then you could also pick 2 out of the 3 choices for your 3rd pick that I suggested as well. Regardless, I think going with all bats is the way to go.
I like QUentin, Markakis and Haren personally. I am not sold on Kemp like the rest although he would be a nice pick. If you want to get an infielder though I would go with Quentin, Phillips, Haren. How did you get these picks? Nice job.
