This team was just drafted and currently all of the available players are on waivers. Should I put in a claim for anyone? Who should I drop? I have the #1 waiver priority.

On Waivers: Ian Stewart, Mike Lowell, Melvin Mora, Adam LaRoche, Travis Hafner, Édgar Rentería, Cristian Guzmán, John Smoltz, Mike Pelfrey, Joe Saunders, Oliver Pérez, Mark Buehrle, Troy Percival, George Sherrill, Brandon Lyon, Brad Ziegler, Joey Devine, Kevin Gregg, Billy Wagner

First off none of those guys are worthy of burning a #1 waiver claim? You shouldn't be so eager to piss it away.

Second off Joe Saunders is so horrible, terribly wretchedly bad, he does not deserve to be on any team. He did not win 17 games last year, the Angels won 17 games despite the fact that Joe Saunders was pitching. He benefited from run support and a good defense and reality will catch up with him this season.

Adam LaRoche is probably the most under-rated hitter in the entire MLB, He's a great back up 1st baseman, CI or utility guy, but you have no place for him. Normally he's a guy I would add after he clears waivers (if I hadn't drafted him in a later round). Your team is fine, I don't see how any of those guys can help you at all, actually.

I wasn't planning on using my #1 waiver now, I just thought that I'd mention it. What do you think about the relievers, are any of them worth an add if they clear waivers?

Well Ziegler/Devine caught my eye. I am a firm believer in Ziegler's ability to hold the closing job all season, other's here believe Devine is better and will take the job from him. Bottom line is, as of right now Ziegler is penciled in as the closer. I would add him and cut Konerko, you really don't need him and he's not someone that you would have much success attempting to trade in a 10 team league.

Wait to see if they clear, then drop Jurrgens for Devine, LaRoche, or Stewart. Don't cut Konerko.

Ten D, i will bet ya Devine is closer by end of year. Ziegler had some luck last year.

You need another closer. Save that #1 waiver but I'd be after one of Devine, Lyon, or Percival if they clear waivers.

I'll accept that bet. Maybe we come up up with some non-monetary stakes.
Oh and LaRoache>Konerko

Tenacious D-EVINE Store, lol.

Konerko/LaRoche about a push. Konerko still has 25-30 hrs left. I probably prefer LaRoche because he's 3B. Jurrgens seems like the easy cut.
