Trade: David Wright for.....

David Wright for Teixeira & Zimmerman

Who gets the best of this trade? It's a standard 12 team, 5x5 league.

If the player dealing Wright has sufficient SBs without him, then I say go for it. But part of me thinks that Wright is such an efficient capsul of elite stats at the 3B position that it is nice to have that talent as opposed to spreading it over two players -- Teix is great, but if you have to bench someone great to play Zimmerman out of position demands, then well... but very fair IMO.

Thanks for the help with mine. No player can be out of the draft longer than 3 years ... so after 2010, Soriano and Granderson both go back into the draft for 2011. Still keep Soriano then? You feel good about his health this year?

David Wright for Teixeira & Zimmerman

I'll take Tex / Zim over Wright in a 2 against 1 league and give up the SBs, but what's the rest of you story.

without knowing who else is on your team I would take Teix and Zimmer. I usually like to be the one getting the best player, but getting those 2 players for him seems worth it.

The rest of the story is in flux, since I have another trade pending and an outstanding waiver claim. I'm the guy in the trade that would be giving up Wright in exchange for Tex/Zimm. The trade was offered to me, and was unsolicited (I wasn't shopping Wright around).

Assuming the other trade I currently have pending goes through, here is what my team looks like:

c: B. Molina
1b: Berkman
2b: Cano
3b: Wright
ss: Alexei Ramirez
of: Holliday
of: Hart
of: Markakis
util: C. Davis

sp: Webb
sp: F. Hernandez
sp: Wainwright
sp: Volstad
rp: Marmol
rp: B. Wilson
rp: Street

Bench: Loney (1b)
Bench: Del. Young (of)
Bench: Polanco (2b)
Bench: Jose Guillen (of)
Bench: P. Sandoval (c)

I'm trying to pick up Ryan Dempster off waivers (I'd drop J. Guillen).

So, if I accepted the trade, C. Davis probably starts the season on the bench until I find out if he can live up to the huge expectations. If he does turn out to be a stud (and if I don't have any injury/bust problems), then I make a decision of who I want to trade, Davis or Zimmerman (probably for a SP).

If the other trade happens to get vetoed, my pitching staff looks better (I would have Grienke instead), but I would have a hulge hole by the name of Orlando Cabrera at SS.

Its a fair trade, but I don't think you need it. If you do I assume you would slide Tex to 1b bumping Berkman to OF/U. I then Like C. Davis over Zimmerman. So Zimmerman would become a bench guy for you.

You will lose the SB that Wright gives you.

To recap: even trade...but it does not help you.

Etraum is right, the trade is fair but makes no sense for your team.....I would stay with what you have.

I prefer the Wright side. He's too elite to trade for a late first/early second + a 10th round player.
