I'm in a 5x5 $260 auction roto keeper league. We can keep 5 people. No $ increase, except that all players count as at least $5 if they are kept (so no $1 players).
I was offered Markakis ($18) for Kazmir ($16).
Should I do this deal? I don't think I would keep either, but I would like to go after Kazmir in the auction. On the other hand, I think Markakis has more value, and I might be able to package Markakis and Nolasco ($5) to someone for a stronger 5th keeper then Nolasco.
What do you guys think?

Just for the record, my keepers right now are:
Longoria ($6)
Hamilton ($12)
S. drew ($5)
Edison Volquez ($5)
Ricky Nolasco ($5)

(Or should I keep Markakis at $18 and dump Nolasco?)

I kind of like the idea ... you can certainly do well with Markakis, and like you said, it is easy to package him and get a starter even better than Kaz out of it -- one that you would like to keep over Nolasco.

I think its a good move for you. Its about the same price and I like Markakis alot more, and he has alot more value than Kazmir. Do it.

I would certainly do the deal and keep Markakis over Nolasco if you aren't able to work a trade. $18 isn't a whole lot for a guy like Markakis who is extremely safe and still has upside given his age.
