Which 2B

Postby JoJoTheWebToedBoy » Fri Feb 27, 2009 11:26 am

So Im sitting in the 4th Rd of my draft (Non-Keeper, H2H, R,HR,RBI,SO,SB,OBP) and I debating between

Roberts, Brian
Phillips, Brandon
Uggla, Dan

I like Roberts for the SBs, but the power that Phillips and Uggla brings are tempting.

Here's what I have sofar

David Wright 3B
Josh Hamilton OF
Adrian Gonzalez 1B

Thoughts....

I like Phillips best but I usually wait longer on 2B and take the best bat.

;-D ;-D ;-D

If all three of those guys are there, what's the sense in killing yourself over which to take in the 4th? How far away is your 5th rnd pick? Odds are it'll sort itself out and only one will be left in say 6-8 picks.

Who else is available? In rnd 4 there should still be some big bats out there.

If you'r dead set on taking a 2B, I'd go with Phillips, he gives you the best speed/power combo of the 3. Don't forget how great his '07 campaign was, I expect him to rebound from what was a (somewhat) disappointing '08.

Help me out?

Phillips kills you in OBP leagues. I take Roberts on that list easily -- but if all are available, you should wait a round.

;-D Took the words right out of my mouth. Roberts hits for a better average too. In fact he annihilated Phillips in every hitting stat except RBI's and home runs last year.

I usually wait longer on MI's too unless someone falls to the point where I can't ignore them anymore.

Brandon Phillips went one pick ahead of me.... So Brian Roberts was the pick. I needed the SBs, and 2B is a litte thin so I jumped.....

Thanks for the help

I'm picking 5th out of 12. After I grabbed Roberts, Cano and Ramirez went in the next 8 picks and Uggla went at 56.
