12 team NL-ONLY 5x5 roto keeper league (we keep 5)
The draft is not for another few weeks, but we are able to trade draft picks....at the moment, I have Utley/Votto/Bruce/Victorino and either Nolasco or Kershaw slated as keepers
Another owner is offering Matt Kemp and picks 225/249/304 for my picks 82(7th)/97(9th)/169(15th)...I could have a keeper list of Utley/Kemp/Votto/Bruce/Victorino.
The draft starts at the 6th rd (pick 61) with the first 5 rds being everyone's keepers...
I have the following picks in my possession -
7th rd - 79 overall (18th pick of draft)
7th rd - 82
8th rd - 86
8th rd - 96
9th rd - 97
11th - 129
13th - 146
15th - 169
15th - 178
15th - 179
Do I go for the gusto and get Kemp?

I believe Matt Kemp is that good with Manny in the lineup. Now with Manny in limbo this definitely does not help Kemp out. Will Kemp produce sure, but his numbers will be down if Manny does not sign, which stands to reason.
I would be curious on knowing when the owner of Kemp offered the deal, I bet right after Manny said no to the Dodgers latest offer. I would find that amusing
The big question is what will happen with Kemp if the trade does not get made, will he end up dropping him anyways? If that seems to be the case you are the one in the drivers seat, meaning you are the one who should get the better end of the deal. COUNTER THAT OFFER WITH LOWER PICKS ON YOUR END

In a 12 team NL-ONLY league, Kemp wont be dropped with us keeping 60 players...my question is, am I better off with the extra picks and a keeper of Kershaw or Nolasco, or better off with Kemp?
Thx

I would take that deal. In NL-only, Kemp is a top 20 player and Nolasco and Kershaw don't quite make the top 60. You should be able to get one of them or at least a comparable player back at draft time. You will not be able to get a player comparable to Kemp at that time. With you having additional picks already, you can more than afford to give up the picks.

Kemps value is much greater than Kershaw or Nolasco's and would definitely benefit your team and would look to make the move. If you make the deal you obviously will need to load up on your pitching with you next couple of selections which makes losing one of your 7th round selections tough. I would counter starting with your 2nd 8th round selection and see if he bites.

Well....my 5 keepers would be solid, but my depth would be pretty thin.
