For real? I've read from couple places it would be Sherrill. Are there any official words from the O's?

Sounds like Ray will get a chance, but the O's don't seem convinced he can do it anymore.

Latest News
The Orioles looked like they had the perfect heir to B.J. Ryan at the closer position in Ray, who wound up needing Tommy John surgery and missing all of last season. They saw Ray return to health last September, but instead of let him pitch, they patted him on the bottom for a rehab well done and said see you in February. Ray should enter spring as the team's closer and, if you followed George Sherrill's All-Star first half, should be a solid injury-risk sleeper in Fantasy. We would have liked to see him prove healthy and effective for the O's last September, but if they are confident he is healthy, we should be too. Consider Ray after the top 25 closers are off the board on Draft Day. We see a comeback player of the year candidate here. (Updated 12/31/08)

Fantasy Analysis
Ray might be a setup man, but it is pretty clear to us the closer job will be Ray's before the end of the season. Consider him an outstanding injury-risk sleeper in deeper Fantasy leagues on Draft Day, but don't expect save opportunities out of the gate.
