I offered Adrian Gonzalez, he offered Evin Santana. The trade is pending for league approval. Which is no guarantee because I am in a crap league where every trade gets vetoed (already 1 objection). What do you think of this trade??????
Martinez, Victor C Teixeira, Mark 1B Kinsler, Ian 2B Longoria, Evan 3B Drew, Stephen SS Dye, Jermaine RF Suzuki, Ichiro RF Victorino, Shane CF Gonzalez, Adrian 1B
Billingsley, Chad SP Garza, Matt SP Jimenez, Ubaldo SP Johnson, Josh SP Matsuzaka, Daisuke SP Jenks, Bobby RP Rivera, Mariano RP
Reserve Batters Cruz, Nelson RF TEX Hawpe, Brad RF COL Maybin, Cameron CF
Reserve Pitchers Bonderman, Jeremy SP Volstad, Chris SP
So you dealt a bat that has shown nothing but consistency and improvement for his 3 full Major League seasons, and in return you got a starter that was really good last year, but struggled to put it together previously. To boot, you have 7 other SP that are all very capable of being above average.
I am not high on Big Erv, so I think you take the raw end of this one. If you have a UTIL or DH spot, I really don't like your deal.
But as the previous poster said, nothing vetoable about it. I just am scared to death of Santana for some reason this year.
I was thinking that I could replace Adrian with Hawpe and I am keeping an eye also on Nelson Cruz also. I wanted a little more pitching depth. After Billingsly and Matsuzaka, I have young pitchers who could be good, but I wanted someone else who had success in the major, like Santana. I probably may not have done this trade in a roto league, but since its h2h, I feel hawpe or cruz will suffice.
