for next year, it'd be nice to be able to have customizable private mock drafts.

the standard roster spots are a bit boring, i need my MI/CI, and extra OF/P slots.

If you click on a specific join link you are trying just for that one spot. Also, there is the ability on the right-hand side of the quickstart button to get a popup and specify what size league you want. If you choose the "12 team" league, it will attempt to find any slot available in a 12 team draft, for instance. This is a more reliable way to score a spot during the rush when new drafts come online.

This worked out pretty good. Check in and wait for the top queue to get below 1 minute. At that point keep clicking the 12 team league option every 5 seconds. That it got me in.....to wait 28 more minutes for the actual draft, lol. :-B

It is a great way to get ready for drafts, and fun too. Hopefully it'll keep people from joining leagues just to draft and then abandon them.

Has anyone tried one of the general ones for a good laugh? :-B

Here is what I ended up with (fun waste of 50 minutes):

C - Brian McCann (5)
1B - Joey Votto (9)
2B - Dan Uggla (8)
3B - Miguel Cabrera (1)
SS - Jhonny Peralta (11)
OF - Carlos Beltran (2)
OF - Carlos Lee (3)
OF - Nick Markakis (4)
UTIL - Carlos Pena (14)
BN - Lastings Milledge (15)
BN - Coco Crisp (21)

SP - Dan Haren (6)
SP - Chad Billingsley (7)
RP - Joakim Soria (10)
RP - Brian Fuentes (13)
P - Zack Greinke (12)
P - Frank Francisco (18)
P - Chris Ray (20)
BN - Erik Bedard (16)
BN - Randy Johnson (17)
BN - Ted Lilly (19)

Too bad I can't have a team like this in a real league. :-]

There are so many mocks that I have done that I would kill to have be real teams. It's crazy how much they can differ from competitive leagues.

Yeah, I did tons of mocks with active people on here but we did 12 teams with MI/CI and 5 OF. This just 10 teams with the normal Yahoo setup. I didn't like most of my mock teams against the cafe guys. Shocker I know. :-o

GP, one of my three leagues is a league comprised of guys from my football money league...and the team I ended up with looks very similar (H2H 12 team 7x7 league with BBs, OPS, L's, CGs...I didn't make up the categories :-b ). So big power guys are very valuable. I pretty much drafted your team, but I get to play it. I'd say only three other managers really know what they're doing. Despite the imbalance it's still fun because of all the talking and everyone stays active. However, the same four teams are pretty much always the top seeds.

I would like one more very good/elite SP, but I really can't complain. :-D I kept thinking "is this guy really still available"?

C Joe Mauer
1B Prince Fielder
2B Kelly Johnson
3B Miguel Cabrera
SS Stephen Drew
OF Carlos Quentin
OF Matt Holliday
OF Curtis Granderson
Util Joey Votto
BN Chris Snyder
BN Mike Lowell
BN Elijah Dukes
BN Jack Cust

SP Chad Billingsley
SP Zack Greinke
SP Adam Wainwright
RP Mike González
RP Jason Motte
P Chris Carpenter
P Chris Young
BN Erik Bedard
BN Wandy Rodríguez
BN Chris Ray
BN Manny Parra

I would imagine anybody here doing a Yahoo draft where everyone isn't an expert with no quotations needed would have to grab Joey Votto Zack Greinke. They are just buried in their rankings.

There's also nothing wrong with taking advantage of people who don't know what they are doing as long as you profit off of them.
