20 Teams - Really sad pitching staff

Postby Tenacious D-Store » Thu Feb 26, 2009 4:34 pm

Oswalt fell to the 6th round (113th overall), but then pitching started to fly. So I just ignored it and decided to keep drafting offense and grab some closers along the way and have faith in some of my deep sleepers at SP. Andrew Miller didn't have room on my team, but clearly isn't on anyone else's radar either, so I see him as a Free Agent add down to road, as well as Jason Schmidt if he proves healthy. This is a 5x6 roto league (holds have been added). Let me know what you think esp regarding the pitchers.

Catching scares me, and other than Capps, your Rp is very unsettled, your SP may suprise lots of potential

HUH? Carlson was one of the best middle relievers in baseball last year with a non-existent ERA and WHIP. Kerry Wood is hurt already, and Lewis will likely be the closer. Fransisco is probably the most under-rated closer this year and has more job security than most of the closers on the market. Wilson is a great option on a Giants team that will win more games this season, but still see those wins be very close.

I recently requested a trade involving Derrek Lee/Pat Burrell for Chris Davis/Jeff Francoeur, and another trade involving Matt Garza/Manny Parra/Xavier Nady for Carlos Quentin/Jerry Hairston

I plan on dropping Hairston for Matt Weiters and with my empty slot picking up Heath Bell or Hiroki Kuroda
