To be fair Wellemeyer was as lucky as he was good last year. That is a 4.50 ERA skillset he displayed turned into a 3.71 ERA with a lucky BABIP and LOB%. Though even a 4.50 ERA skillset is a pretty big improvement over his past years in the majors.

Yeah, it's the change in pitching philosophy that intrigues me. I don't plan on picking him up, just keeping him on the ol' watch list...

Reason he's been able to change his approach is that he's now throwing a pretty good sinker (thanks to Duncan).
