Cecil had 4 strikeouts in 2 innings today. I wonder if he'll make the team.

Obviously this guy could be a fantasy monster if he could put it all together all season long (.300/25/25 type potential with good RBI numbers in the the 5 spot). His spring season will be one of the more interesting ones to me after he faded so badly in September last year. I want to see him jump out to a good start and carry some momentum into opening day.

i actually think hes fairly capable of 30/30 but .300? i just dont see that happening.

.295 in 2007 (505 ABs)
.286 up until September in 2008 (514 AB)
.300 minor league hitter between AA and AAA.

I'm not suggesting I think it's likely, but I don't think it's unreasonable to see him luck into a few hits in a given year and hit .300. I think .300 is more likely than 30 HR (not a ton a raw power) or 30 SB (doesn't draw enough walks) given his style of play.

It's not impossible, but even projecting .300 as a ceiling is a reach. That's like moon landing impossible.

I watched one AB of Indians C prospect Carlos Santana, and he drew a BB. The kid just has that look like he is going to be a big time stud.
