Ideas? I think a 10th round pick is about right, then it escalates to an 8th next year, then a 6th the year after or something. Anyone have better ideas?
I prefer the 15th round for FAs. And if you keep 2 FAs - 14th and 15th rounds. If you pick up a guy off waivers, his original drafted round should be kept.
I don't mind escalating rounds, but if you are not going to escalate players picked in the draft, then it doesn't make sense to me to escalate FAs. Either everybody should escalate or nobody should.

Personally, I think we should escalate players kept in the draft as well. I mean, you want to reward the person who (for example) drafted Carlos Quentin in the last round last year...but he shouldn't cost a last round draft pick every year. The 2 or 3 rounds suggested elsewhere sounds about right to me.

I'm open to the idea of everyone escalating, what's everyone else's thoughts?

I like all this, and I know that there is no system in place for this yet, but I think that the minors system can be worked in to this purpose, perhaps in the same manner that I mentioned in the keepers forum. I dont know, I would like say that maybe a WW pick-up costs a minor league draft pick or two. Perhaps getting into next season too early.
OK so let's say hypothetically I draft Oli Perez in the 12th round, but later drop him in to the FA pool. Headrooms then picks him up as a free agent and decides to keep him. Is he still considered a 12th round pick?

I think WW pickups should be kept 15th round and escale 2 rounds each year, also if I draft say griffey round 21 this year, then enxt year he should cost me round 19 pick
