Speier
Hawkins
F Rod

Speier is listed as a closer for Toronto
Hawkins is speculated to overtake Borowski
K-Rod is would be nasty if Troy's hip affects him

How would you rate these guys?

Of the three, Hawkins is the most appealing because even if it takes a while for him to overtake Borowski, he will at least put up good numbers as a set up man.

I would take Speier second because he may have the best shot of making an immediate impact. But I don't like him in the long run.

I don't think that Rodriguez will ever be given a shot to be the closer in Anaheim. If Percival goes down then I believe Donnally will be the closer. The only thing Rodriguez would be good for is as a permanent set up man in a deep league.

Speier. The job is his to lose. I doubt the others will get a shot at closing.

By the end of spring training, I expect Speier to have a firm hold on the closer's spot in Toronto. Grab him. :-)
