Plus Marmol gets enough Wins per IP that he helps in that category if he doesn't get the closer's job. 5 Wins in '06 and '07 (I didn't take the time to breakout his Wins per inning as a non-closer in 2008) in an average of 73 IP, would give him the same W/IP rate as a 14 win starter (assuming 204 IP).
However, I don't know if I'm high enough on Marmol to take him in the 10th-12th rounds when some other top #2 SPs like Greinke are still around.

again, even if Gregg starts the season as the closer, it is only a matter of time until Marmol becomes the closer. He is the better pitcher. 8 innings in preseason shouldn't decide the closer job, but it so often does.

If Pinella is smart he keeps Marmol in the 7th/8th where he is way more valuable than at Closer so I dont' really see this 'Gregg will pitch his way out of it' comments holding any water. Gregg has been fine as a closer outside of one stretch where he was having knee problems. I think if Gregg gets the job he'll keep it until nagging injuries take it away from him.
I'd still rather own Marmol though, Gregg is a marginal closer with the job, Marmol is an elite one if he gets it. Gregg isn't really very useful without the role, Marmol should still be owned in every league even if he isn't closer.
