Need help with my OF

Postby jaybogey » Tue Feb 24, 2009 5:07 pm

I need some help here, I am in a Roto 5x5 league

My team is

C=Russell Martin
1B=Carlos Pena
2B=.Kaz Matsui
SS=Ryan Theriot
3B=Ryan Zimmerman
OF=Jay Bruce
OF=Nelson Cruz
OF=Denard Span
UTIL=Mark Reynolds

BN=Mike Napoli (C)
BN=Felipe Lopez (2B,3B, SS, OF)
BN=Hank Blalock (1B, 3B)
BN=MIke Cameron (OF)

SP=Johan Santana
SP=Jake Peavy
SP=Brandom Webb

RP=Jonathan Papelbon
RP=Brian Fuentes

P=Francisco Liriano
P=Adam Wainwright
P=Max Scherzer

I am extremely happy with my pitching, but notice I lack power, and my power hitters bring low BA, I want to drop Mike Cameron,and available in waivers are Travis Snider, Adam Lind, Adam Jones, and Jeff Francoceur. I think I am good on speed and want a OF who will give me decent power and BA. Which one out the aforemantioned looks promising.

Of those, look for Travis Snider to make an impact if he gets playing time. I also see a breakout year from Adam Jones, but nothing in the way of huge power, maybe 20 HR or so...

You are hurting for power though, and even though you seem attached to your pitching staff, I would try trading one for a bopper if you can (maybe in a package to upgrade a speed guy). Your staff will still be one of the best in the league, it leaves you room to pick up the guy who comes out of the woodwork, and gives you the power bat you need.

If he pulls it together, he might go 25 HR, I would expect just shy of 20 though. .280 should be a lock. I'm not overly high on him, but mostly because the times I've seen him play he looked a little underconfident. He could surprise me though, he's got a good looking swing.

Well with regards to Liriano, Santana, Peavy or Webb, which one should I package for either Hamilton, Braun, Upton or Quentin
