Granderson for Adam Jones, Pelfrey

Postby pepino » Tue Feb 24, 2009 2:03 pm

Keeper league (can keep 7 players).
Auction, 5x5 Roto, $260 budget, 17 active players, 10 bench players.

I am offering Mike Pelfrey ($3) and Adam Jones ($4) for Curtis Granderson ($10) to an owner who likes Jones and only has 5 good priced keepers. I like this trade for me (I can't keep both Pelfrey and Jones anyway). But is this a good trade for the other guy? In other words, if any of you were short on keepers, would you take Jones and Pelfrey for Granderson?

So far my keepers are:
ARod - $37
J Beckett - $17
E Santana - $7
J Danks - $3
K Wood - $6
J Broxton - $4
M Pelfrey - $3 OR Adam Jones $4

Interesting.

$10 for Granderson looks cheap, even though I'm not a huge fan of his. Long term, I like Adam Jones better than Granderson, but this season Granderson should have the better season. Mike Pelfrey is just meh IMO. He's serviceable in a deep league, but he probably shouldn't be owned in a 12 team league.

I'm on the fence on this one. But I would probably go for Granderson. It's worth a try.

A side from Jose Reyes Granderson had more triples then anyone else in the MLB last season, he's a great lead off guy and scores a ton of runs even if he doesn't steal that many bases. I don't think Pelfrey will ever be as good as he was projected to be and to be honest his numbers from last season may be his ceiling. I like Jones, but I'd stick with Granderson.

I like the deal for you, but I doubt that its accepted with Pelfrey as the 2nd.

FYI - Granderson could not be kept beyond 2009. Adam Jones could be kept for 2 years.
