Thanks for the help with mine.
If Ethier is roadblocked all around, that's a great deal for you. You go from a 2-category guy at most to Pedroia who will contribute numbers in everything. And if Nelson Cruz wins a job in ST and busts out hitting behind Hamilton like I expect him to, that could be huge for you. As much as I like Ethier, it's a shame he's sitting on your bench. Your circumstances make this work, I think.

i think you gotta keep liriano personally...your pitching staff is lacking a lights out guy. maybe focus on dealing one of your mashers for a top-tier pitcher rather than trying to get pedroia. or maybe package lester and a decent hitter for a much stronger hitter.

Definately pull the trigger. Liriano is a health risk and Pedroia is way more valuable. Plus N. Cruz has enormous potential this year in that stacked Texas lineup.

I guess my concern is having a rotation that consists of:
Lester
Cain
Nolasco
Kershaw
R. Johnson
Buchholz
Smoltz
With no bankable closers
It would make my offense more well rounded though

I love Either, but Pedroia is just too good too pass up. Liriano is a high risk/high reward.
Maybe you could counter with Liriano and Polanco (or Ethier and Polanco) for Pedroia. If he says "no", then take the trade he offered.

Substitute out Cruz for Juan Pierre... I assume the consensus is still to do it?

I'm not a Pedroia fan but, still think you should do this. Who cares about Polanco and Ethier!
Cruz has good potential and Pedroia is well worth losing Liriano over.
Worst case scenario you could turn around and trade Pedroia straight up for another ace and still be better off than you are now IMO.
