Trades

Postby j24jags » Mon Feb 23, 2009 6:31 pm

Here is what I plan to do with trades.

Team A trades with Team B, it goes through right away on Yahoo (No league vote or commish vote on Yahoo). As soon as they can after the trade has been put through/agreed on, post a thread here with a poll to allow/disallow. If 6 people vote to veto it then it will have to be undone.

Is that okay with everyone?

I'd eliminate the requirement to post a poll.

I think they should automatically go through unless someone has a serious problem with the deal.

I'd prefer there to be a 24-hour waiting period, with the "commissioner" option. I would hope there wouldn't be a need to veto any trades in this league, but it feels messy to have a separate poll for each trade when 24 hours allows people the time to contact the commissioner if there is a problem.

If the unlikely happened and a trade was vetoed, what do we do about the stats that were accumulated in the meantime? No, I think a 24-hour waiting period is reasonable for a trade to be processed, and keeps things simple.

My 2 cents ;-D

I don't think you need a poll on every trade, but if someone has a problem, let them post it here. Let the traders offer their thinking and we can vote. I would let just about any trade go through and if the league thinks there is collusion, they don't get invited back next year.

I also agree with Chris. 24 hour waiting period should be enough for us to discuss in here if there's anything blatantly wrong with a trade.

Well said 24 hours for us to dispute any trade. and only trades that we feel are cheating should be vetoed

I run a 20 team league and tried the all trades pass immediatly rule once. Some people whined that the trades were being processed to quickly and they couldn't keep track of them, but in my opinion you have the option to receive an e-mail informing you of all accepted and processed trades, if you chose not to invoke that option that you really have no reason to whine. That being said I am fairly neutral on this option. I don't join public leagues where the commish decides on all trades, but I'm sure our commish is experienced enough to understand the differance between an unbalanced trade and collusion.

I agree with Chris as well. It may be a little difficult/annoying to always be checking the forum to see if anyone has a problem with it however.
