Once we figure out this keeper poll we will address that. My thinking is that a FA pick up becomes a 10th round pick the first year, then an 8th round pick the 2nd year or something of that nature. It wouldn't be fair to grab a top prospect (say Cole Hamels of 2 years ago) and only sacrifice a last round pick for the rest of the league.

Keep in mind in a 14 team league, 10th round means top 140 players. It is not uncommon for a top prospect to come up and outperform the 10th round. I think 20th round is way too low...

One league I was in treated a FA as a 15th round pick - so depending on how many years picks at that level can be kept, you might be able to keep him an additional two years or whatever.

You could also set a keeper in following years as a draft choice 2 or 3 spots higher than his original slot. This might address what Oopah suggested about barring keepers from the first few rounds.
