How many keepers do you guys want to have?

I'm not too bothered - somewhere between 5 and 10 sounds fine - but I do think there should be some sort of cost involved.

For example:

Player drafted in Rd 1 - can't be kept
Rds 2-3 - kept for 1 year
Rds 4-8 - kept for 2 years
etc.

OR

Players kept cost you a draft pick in the corresponding round next year.

This needs to be fleshed out & agreed upon, but I just don't think we should be able to keep players without a cost.

Excellent proposal. My thought would be:

Round 1 can't be kept
Rounds 2-6 - this year plus one year - 1 player
Rounds 7-15 - this year plus 2 years - 2 players
Rounds 16-25 - this year plus 3 years - 2 players

As Chris8 said - "Players kept cost you a draft pick in the corresponding round next year(s)."

I actually like the Dynasty idea, but if not, I'd go for a low amount of keepers. 5-7 would be perfect, IMO.

The only reason I'm a little hesitant to do a dynasty is that if someone has a crappy foundation in such a deep league it would take very very long for them to become competitive again. In a 10 team/normal depth league it is easier to grab breakout guys, but if we do a dynasty in a league this deep and two of your early picks don't pan out then you could be screwed for a long time.

Between 5 and 10 is good for me. I also like the giving up the draft round of your keeper.
