Church/Tatis Platoon in RF

Postby pokerplaya » Mon Feb 23, 2009 2:11 pm

Just read that Murphy will have full time job in LF, and the platoon will be in RF.

I'm not a big fan.

Thoughts?

I like the idea but I don't think it's going to be a straight up platoon in RF either. I think that Tatis gives us the RH bench bat we need and then he can platoon either Murphy or Church in games versus LHP. And I have to say that at this point I would much rather see Murphy batting against LHP than Church.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Have you heard anything further on this? I haven't. I have my Mets article set to be published tomorrow, but I'm not sure how/if I should edit the part about the Murphy/Tatis platoon especially if what you said is true and that Tatis will end up getting a number of starts at both corner positions...

No Manuel only mentioned it briefly and the rest has mostly been fan and media conjecture.
