The top tier guys are gone before the draft even starts. Guys like Sizemore, Manny, Caballo, Berkman will be there for the draft, but there will not be any SP out there. Maybe it was a bad trade, but SP is what won our h2h pts league last year, and I think it will be even more important this year considering the commish trimmed SP from 8 to 7.

so each team must carry fewer SP's than last year, which makes SP more valuable? i dont follow. with fewer roster spots, the FA pool has more talent, so it's easier to pick up a solid starter. to me, that makes SP less valuable. or am i missing something here :-?

In my 12 team league, 3 of us are on a trade review board and we have the power to veto bad deals.

I wouldnt veto that but I would ask that u get your pick back.

Even with that you get beat on the deal, but not so bad that i veto.

So, I can't completely crush this trade, because I think that Webb will be more valuable than Hamilton will this year.

That being said, Hamilton's perceived value is so high that you should have done better. If anything you should've gotten Webb and a pick.

Yeah, I don't know. Possibly. I guess in our league the emphasis has always been on pitching more than on hitting, which is different that 5x5 right? Isn't roto way more hitting heavy? That is why the cafe is good for me as far as sleepers etc, but I have never really relied on the cafe for trade advice because it is totally different than what my league seems to reflect.

Maybe it is a stupid trade, but I look at it like this: I have one of the top 3 pitchers and one of the top 5-6 batters. Webb, Johan, CC, Halladay have gone in the first round the last 2 years, (before we made it keeper).

I feel good about my team's start. It was hard to part with Hamilton, but his injury history really has me not so high on him.

I will make sure to come and update this thread with my team after the draft.

Our league is pretty win heavy with 10 pts per win. Lince gets knocked down a notch.

You can tell that this guy is obviously the doormat of his league. After reading this entire post, I'd have to say that his ethics are laughable at best. Give it a break, buddy. No one wants to hear your jive. :-L

What was the purpose of bumping this? Just to make sure everyone read your nasty comment, that was completely unjustified?

Well, thought I would update this post. Perhaps the trade was stupid, especially giving up the draft pick. But, the good news is that I got #1 draft pick and will be picking MCAB!! Pretty pumped about that.

Also, the jerk above is actually the guy I did the trade with . He was being a funny guy by posting that. He was just joking, and I tried to tell him to be serious on here.

Looks like my team will start off Braun, B Webb, and Miggy. Just FYI. In retrospect, I should have run the trade by the cafe before I did it. Oh well.
