Not sure if they are taking new teams, but an on-line league I'd recommend is mendoza baseball. I played for 2 seasons but could never keep up with the daily transactions. Still, it's the most realistic league (from a GM perspective) that I've seen.

I used fanball last year...they have several different dollar amounts...last year I was in a 10 team $25 league that paid out 100 to the winner and 25 to second place.

I know this forum is like 2 years old, but try SportsGeek.com
It's a daily fantasy site, so you pick a lineup with a maximum salary cap each day and you compete head to head or against a group of other players. There are a bunch of similar sites out there, but i like it the most. And they give out the best promos in my opinion. if you sign up, enter "moneyballer" as your promo code when you register, and you'll start with a $50 bonus
Please check out my fantasy baseball iPhone app: FanValue, at
http://fanvalueapp.com/Enter in predictions or real player stats, and calculate the player's fantasy value
