Help with minor league pick!

Postby mission27 » Sun Feb 22, 2009 6:31 pm

Really biggest need is hitting right now. I have tons of young pitching so I'm not worried about that. Hitting cats are the standard 5, as well as XBH and OBP so it sort of favors power hitters. Hitters already taken:

- Travis Snider
- Elvin Andrus
- Lars Anderson
- Chris Getz
- Colby Rasmus
- Jason Heyward
- Matt Laporta

Maybin, Wieters, and Fowler were all keepers.

I'm thinking it's between Pedro Alvarez, Brett Walace, and Andrew McCutchen. Who would you guys pick? Leave a link.

Alvarez has the biggest upside. I am not sold on Wallace as a big time MLB player but he has put up some nice numbers in the minors. But I think I would go with Alvarez and cross your fingers that the Pirates can produce a player out of there minor league system.

Yeah that's who I went with. I think he has tremendous upside, and if he make it to the big leagues this year he will produce. Probably more of a 2010 guy, but I can keep 15 guys so that's ok.
