your thoughts please

I have the 10th/11th pick in draft in a 10 team league. We only play 1b/2b/ss/3b/of/of/of/util/ and pitchers.

I am thinking taking Kinsler/Hamilton with the 10th/11th pick. That park in Texas is a launching pad.

I know i wont be able to get either on the way back. so is it worth the risk to gamble on them early.

Last year I was sold on these guys. I had them both and finished the year disappointed. I have some concerns with Hamilton after the HR derby, he fell off a little in the second half. Kinsler is a minor concern as well with the groin.

I can't say that I wouldn't take them, but I have to believe that a Howard/Utley combo could be better and I do believe that they will be there at 10. If I had the choice, I'd go Howard/Utley if I were in your position. Utley is a concern too. Maybe Howard/Hamilton is a good choice.

It's safe to say that 10 is not a good spot in a draft this year, in my opinion.

Defiantly! I am planning on doing the same thing. That tandem is one of the best you can have in baseball. The only other that would challenge them is Jimmy Rollins / Ryan Howard...but i still take Kinsler/Hamilton...

the only problem is i really want Longoria to man 3B for me...This is a keeper league. I have been offered the 1st overall pick...basically swapping entire drafts. I could take Hanely #1 then come back and hope either Kinlser/Hamilton is there in the 2nd and take 1 of them and Longoria.....

Thoughts...Is it worth the gamble or do i just stay put and take Hamilton/Kinlser

Well that is unlikely. However, in a keeper league I would defiantly rather have Han-Ram and Longoria then Hamilton and Kinsler.

Utley has been falling pretty far too. I snagged him in my first draft as the 20th pick, and then went on to draft Longo...

So you could potentially end up with Han-Ram Utley and Longo...

I think it is worth the risk!!!

How could anyone be disappointed? Kinsler earned $28, Hamilton $30, both career highs by a lot. Both made MVP runs.

I would go Hamilton/Howard or Hamilton/Upton or Hamilton/Tex.

not a bad strategy...but why would i go with a 1B so early...when guys like A-Gone/Votto are avail 4 rds later.

Kinsler is the guy i want. I am just not sure about drafting him with the 1st pick in the 2nd rd.

You could make the same analogy, why go Kinsler, when you get get Uggla/Roberts rounds later?
I try to pick talent over anything. I like Kinsler, but i wouldn't pick him at 11.
