16-team auction league, 6x6 holds and OPS.

We are doing a slow auction draft....12 hours pass without a bid and the player is yours.

Started with the standard $260. Ryan Braun is currently sitting at $34, and it's between myself and one other manager. Is Ryan Braun worth a $35 bid? I set strict limits for the other top ten-ish players, and everyone bid them far in excess. Hanley went for over $50.

Braun and Holliday are the top two bats left. I imagine Holliday will go for a similar price.

I would spend another dollar, but that is about it. He is going to be a stud, but I am not a big fan of so much of my budget on one player. Don't overpay just because he is the last one left. I would much rather have home over Holliday though.

I assume your starting from scratch.
It's worth the extra buck. What was the limit you set? $34? You need to be a little bit flexible or your going to lose out on all the best players. If you're willing to spend 34, spend 35. You'll be much happier with Braun at 35 then someone else at 12 vs 11.
(Note: Braun went for $34 in my keeper league's initial auction last year. And the person who bought him at that price is debating keeping him. Just something to make note of)
