It's a 12 team roto basic 5x5 stats league. For some ungodly reason Ryan Zimmerman and Howie Kendrick {So is Delmon young) are now on waivers (I have the 5th priority) questions who should I drop for Zimmerman, Kendrick and Young or should I bother spending my 5th priority spot on them

I guess that means you don't want to drop your homer pick.
I too would drop Frenchie to get any of those players. I would drop Sheffield also. I wouldn't use my waiver priority . But if you're going to make a move , I wouldn't wait long once they clear waivers.

I hate to use a pretty good waiver number for a player that will be on my bench , and only be in the lineup on possibly Monday or Thursday. I do like Zimmerman . He should be on a team. If there's a team that has a need for a 3B , and also has a starting pitcher you like I would consider using my waiver and trying for a trade. I think your team could use 1 more starting pitcher , rather than have 4 bench players on you offence. Although I like to have the extra batters the first 2-3 weeks of the year , since there's usually many ppd games . I usually like to save my waiver , since some will dump players who get off to a slow start. Every year I'm able to scoop up dumped players who rebound . I guess it wouldn't be a bad move to use it now, but I would only do it if I thought I could find a trade.
There are no stupid leagues! There are stupid owners, and occasionally stupid commissioners, but no stupid leagues. Shef for Zimmerman is a no brainer, and I would probably just hang on to Butler and see what he does this season. I might drop Frenchy for Young though.
