Who picks second, Seattle? No long term answer at SS there unless you count Triunfel, which they should not. But with it being Seattle, you never know. I will guess White for them. And San Diego will take the hometown-ish Green.

I'm not sure there really is a standout #2 guy in this draft....I mentioned in the other college thread that there are a few pitchers, a couple HS kids and other college bats in Poythress, Ackley, Phegley, Black, Dominguez, Kipnis, Spina, etc who all have a superior bat to Green. But yeah, there are probably a dozen guys or more who all could make a case, IMHO.
Not suprising they would drop him like a rock...also not suprising they have all those HS kids ranked so high. It was mentioned in another thread that they tend to jump around with there thoughts alot and also lean towards the younger guys if at all possible. With that said, the list isn't terrible and that there are a decent number of guys who could fill out the top 10 without Green being one of them.
I really think Green has the potential to be the next Longoria or Tulowitski as some think he can be and will likely be the 1st offensive player in the draft to see the majors. His 6'3 185 lbs frame looks like it can be built on, he could steal 20+ bags, and he has opposite field power with the range and arm to play MLB SS. Now, some of his value will depend in where he is drafted. Many people are predicting the he'll go to the Padres at #3 which will limit his offensive upside but he could go anywhere from 2-6, 8-10. I'd really like to see him go to an offensive park and if so he could be exceptional.
sickels on grant green... Grant Green, SS, USC Green got off to a slow start this year, but has boosted his production lately and might still be the first college hitter drafted. Hitting .372/.439/.577 for Southern Cal, excellent for a middle infielder in this context. He also has 13 stolen bases in 17 attempts, and continues to impress scouts with his overall tools. His strike zone judgment needs work: 13 walks against 27 strikeouts in 137 at-bats is fairly mediocre. He also needs to reduce his error rate, though scouts believe he has the range, hands, and arm strength to remain at shortstop. Green will definitely go in the first round, probably in the top ten, depending on his bonus demands.
There are some rumors floating around as well that say he was suffering from a hand injury this year, which may have affected his hitting....but not substantiated by any reports...
