Well the longer it takes him to get a contract signed the lesser chances he has of pitching in September. I'm thinking this contract will be inked on the deadline August 17th (I just read that they bumped the deadline from the 15th to the 17th so it was on a work day?)...
Thanks for the info ... im holding the number 1 waiver all year in my keeper league for him hope im not wasting it

Even if he does sign, I doubt he would even be up this year to make your wavier save mean something. Also, he declined an offer of 'about 12.5 million' according to SI.
This could be irrelavant tomorrow but if he doesn't sign what team do you think takes him next year. Cleveland? Baltimore? Could Seattle take the risk if they don't sign Ackley? Next few hours should be exciting.
