Suicide. In a AL only, i can think of at least 30 players more valuable.

Suicide. I can't see how Mauer is any higher than the #50 hitter even in an AL only. Take a real a couple of real bats, and leave the catchers 'till late.

I picked up Doumit in like the 13th 14th round and he is a solid and then I got Navarro on waivers as my back up for my 2nd round pick I picked Fielder and 3rd round I got Halladay. Like everyone said already catcher is deep and even the best catchers don't match up to players like fielder who you can get instead with the early pick.

Thanks for the help on mine...

I'd have to go along with everyone else on this one. I am not that big of a fan of drafting catchers early, and especially 2 back to back. Not 100% sure on what V-Mart's role this year will be either. I say if you are going to take any catcher that early, take Mauer and then another bat.

Out of those players I'd take Rios & Granderson. If this is on Yahoo then on average Mauer will be going in the late 4th round and Martinez will be going in the late 6th round. Maybe earlier given having 2 Cs. But either way, 2nd and 3rd round is way to early to grab them. One will be availble for you in the 4th/5th. If not, grab Wieters in the 9th or 10th.

I'd take Quentin and Ortiz. Even with 2 catchers it seems too early for Mauer.
