Just what iffing in a Chicago paper today and talked about on sports radio. The gist was the Cubs should go after Manny and move Soriano back to 2B where the Cubs don't have a solid option.

Again it will not happen but hey it's not my money so I say go for it.

I briefly saw "Manny to Cubs" while another page was loading and I was all like but then I came back here and read "This is NOT going to happen but.." and then I was all like

Of course, I would love to see Manny's bat but the notion of what Soriano at 2B, w/ quite a bit of rust at that position, would do to the team ERA gives me quite a bit of pause? I have always been fond of Soriano, as he was the first fantasy player I took in 2003 (I had to work late, I had the #2 pick, but picked pre-draft so they could get a head start on the draft...) but I have laughed out loud at some of his 2B plays?

I agree that the finances don't make a lot of sense for the Cubs. They fill the place w/ the guys they've got. They can trot Michah Hoffpauer out there and people will fall in love w/ him for 2 months, buy 15,000 Hoffpauer jerseys and then he'll regress to normal for a 30 year old?
