10 team, AL only, 5x5 (TB instead of HR), standard roto league, $260 salary cap, max 11 keepers
I don't have much in the way of keepers on this team so quantity is not an issue. Just wondering what people think about keeping Garko at $7 and filling 1B (would be open at CI to buy another 1B) as opposed to putting him back. I think it's OK value for him but worry a little about playing time with VMart, Shoppach, and Hafner. Any thoughts?

I'd keep Garko at that price. I had to give him in two different leagues after last season after having him in both for two or three years.
I fully expect Garko to go for more than $7 in my AL only auction league.

I'd expect him to finish with 300AB max. Similar numbers as you'd expect but with the loss of playing time adjustment.

I agree, Garko is a rather under-rated mixed league 1st baseman. 2007 was seen as a disappointment for Garko but wasn't all that bad for only his second season as a full time player. I heard so called fantasy experts say that he is nothing but a Casey Blake clone but I think they are wrong. He'll never be a top 5 1st baseman but he will be serviceable, much like a young Lyle Overbay. For 7 bucks he'll be fine in an AL only league. Beats Kendry Morales or Daric Barton especially if you have a CI spot. However, your concerns about the VMart, Shoppach, and Hafner situation is valid. If Pronk can prove his health and be productive someone is bound to be dealt though, I'm willing to bet it V-Mart or one of the catchers at least. They'll find a way to keep Garko in the line-up unless he falls flat on his face at the plate this season.

Regarding the competion for PT from Shoppach, Hafner, and VMart:
I'd be more than willing to gamble that one of Hafner and VMart misses significant PT due to injury this season.
I just took VMart in the fifth round of my mixed league, so I hope it is Hafner that misses the time, LOL.
