I'm in a 6X6, 12 team, 6 keeper league. My top 3 keepers are Johan, Ervin, and Beltran, though I'm probably going to try and deal Beltran. The rest of the group is very lackluster. I've come to the conclusion that only Dunn, Martin, Tulowitski, Broxton, and Joba are worth keeping. I need to choose 3 of those 5 obviously.
Joba could be big, but then again I would probably have a good chance of getting him back in the draft. But the youth and upside is there in spades. I hate Dunn's average, but my hitters aren't much at this point so his HRs, RBI and OBP would be a big help. Does going to Washington hurt his value much? Martin seems like a shoe-in. Tulo is very young and I know a lot of people are high on his upside. And Broxton seems like a stud closer, but with so few pitchers being kept I might be able to target him in the draft as well.
I'm leaning towards Martin, Tulo, and Dunn. What do you guys think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I don't think going to Washington hurts Dunn at all. The Reds aren't exactly contenders either. Great American might be a more hitter friendly park, but when it comes to Dunn it doesn't matter much. When he gets good wood on something he crushes it, even in the old RFK park I wouldn't shy away from him. It's very tempting to keep Joba, or even Johnny Broxton, but you are keeping 2 nice starters and there will always be closers in the draft. You and Giantsfan have made the right choice, IMO.
I think you can expect similar numbers from Dunn this year so he's a clear choice. I also think Martin makes a lot of sense. Personally, I'd keep Broxton over Tulo but I can't argue if you go the other way. Please help with mine? viewtopic.php?t=367925
I agree with Dunn, Martin, and Tulo. But if LA signs Manny, then I would sub Broxton for Tulo. (I know there are all you naysayers about saves/closers regardless of whether their teams win...)
