League commish spiced thing up! help!

have a look at this...

FKMLB YEAR THREE - LEAGUE REBOOT: YEAR ONE OF THE TWO YEAR PLAN

In order to return parity to the league it has been decided by a majority of team managers that to being the 2009 Baseball season, teams will submit a modified list of 10 keepers by FRIDAY, February 20th, 2009. This new list will break down as such:

1. An "Upper Tier" of 5 Players that are protected by the team for the upcoming season. These players are designated as "Keepers" and cannot play, nor be drafted by any other team.

2. A "Lower Tier" of 5 players that are available to other teams in the league in return for a draft pick. The manager of the team listing players gets to designate what pick he would like to receive for what player. If a manager on another team wants that player, they must give the associated pick to the players original team.
______________________________________________
EXAMPLE:
Keeper: Mark Teixeira
Keeper:Miguel Cabrera
Keeper: B.J. Upton
Keeper:Prince Fielder
Keeper: Carl Crawford

1st Round Pick - Russell Martin
2nd Round Pick - Matt Holliday
3rd Round Pick - Carlos Beltran
4th Round Pick - Curtis Granderson
5th Round Pick - Alexei Ramirez

If a team wishes to claim Matt Holliday from me, I receive their 2nd round pick and Holliday would then become one of their keepers replacing one of their "Upper Tier". The player who is removed from that teams "Upper Tier" can not be placed into the "Lower Tier" for trading. (For example, I could not claim Grady Sizemore from Doyle and move Carl Crawford into the available players and try to get a pick for him)

This is my roster

Ivan Rodriguez
Travis Hafner
Chase Utley
Christian Guzman
Melvin Mora
Ryan Zimmerman
Chipper Jones
Josh Hamilton
Xavier Nady
Magglio Ordonez

AJ Burnett
Francisco Liriano
Roy Oswalt
K-Rod
CC Sabathia
Ben Sheets
Justin Verlander
Ervin Santana

Now, who would you keep as your 5 definiate keeper, and who would you put in your lower tier?

Your list I think should be:

Utley
Zimmerman
Chipper
Hamilton
Maggs
Liriano
Oswalt
K-Rod
Sabathia
Big Erv

Now, I think there is a big element of strategy regarding the order of those ten. Where in the standings did you finish last year, and how many teams are in your league?

Sheets is going to miss at least half of te season, and will have to try to find a team mid-season. Terribly low value there.

Burnett is a walking emergency room. I like him even less than Big Erv. Burnett is going late enough in drafts to where if you are in love with him, you should be able to leave him off your keeper list and redraft him in the regular draft.

I have to run, but when I get back home tonight I will put a bit more thought into the ordering of your keepers. I think this is a really intriguing strategy decision.

My PM didn't go out for some reason. I resent it.
