Haren, Vlad or Morneau who to keep

Postby IAHAWKS » Tue Feb 17, 2009 3:41 pm

In a 12-15 team rotisserie league...5X5 scoring..I can keep 5 but forfeit first 5 rounds...a few other guys have already kept 5 guys..
I am keeping Chase Utley- still top 2B
Jimmy Rollins - SS not deep
Alfonso Soraino - power and speed combo
I am deciding between Morneau, Vlad, Dan Haren, Carlos Lee for the other two spots. What do you guys think.....

I would take Morneau and Carlos Lee as well with Haren as an outside chance once you start to get a sense of what type of pitching will be available. My guess though is that in a 5-keeper league even if there are 12-15 teams you should still have some good arms available.

Carlos Lee and Vlad.

I don't see what's so great about Morneau. He's .280/30. Vlad is .315/25.

I'd rather have Vlad.

In a keeper league I think Morneau's value is much higher than Vlad's. He is 5 years younger and plays 1B. Plus if you look at Vlad's numbers for the most part they have been declining across the board for 2 years now. The age and declining numbers would definitely throw up a red flag for me in a keeper.

Maybe his value is higher, which is a good argument to keep and trade, however I just think Vlad's the better hitter (still).

Vlad and Morneau...
Vlad and Haren...
Morneau and Haren...

definitely one of those combos... lol I really don't see a wrong choice they are all great. However, I to would let Haren slip away and go with the sluggers. I bet you could get Haren back with your first pick, or someone equally as talented.
