The two are very close by any projections for the current year. If anything, more give the edge to Markakis. It really depends who fits the overall makeup of your team better. Not knowing that, and given that you're playing h2h, Markakis is the wiser choice.
I understand that a lot of people have begun to think that they are similar values, or even that Markakis is ahead. That is why I am saying they are wrong, and that I haven't seen many Markakis projections that justify taking him anywhere near when Crawford should be going.
Right now, outside of major injuries, the worst case reasonable scenario for Crawford is that he'll will be worth about the same as Markakis. The best case, Crawford is far more valuable (and no, I'm not thinking Crawford will hit more than 15HR even in the optimistic case for him).
I'd say it falls somewhere in between, where Crawford is a very good value in the late 3rd round, and Markakis is a bad bad pick anywhere before the 5th round.
