12 team keeper league in the 3rd year. Pretty standard stat categories and the league is head to head. Miguel Cabrera lost his 3B eligibility and so I now need a 3B and was wondering if you guys could help me think of trade to acquire a good 3B while not having to give up too much or make a move that would require me to find other things. I was thinking about targeting Youkilis or someone like that.
My team: C- Ianetta 1B- Miguel Cabrera 2B- H. Kendrick SS- Hanley Ramirez 3B- EMPTY OF- Manny Ramirez OF- Magglio Ordonez OF- Torii Hunter OF- Jayson Werth UTIL- Jimmy Rollins UTIL- Prince Fielder Bench Carlos Delgado Bench- Adam LaRoche
SP Johan Santana SP Roy Oswalt SP Ben Sheets SP Edinson Volquez P Yovani Gallardo P Ubaldo Jiminez P Dustin McGowan RP Joe Nathan RP Kevin Gregg Bn Johnny Cueto Bn Kyle Lohse Bn Todd Wellemeyer
Thanks and WHIR if you leave a link. Also, I'm not interested in trading away Hanley or Cabrera.
Guess I can't help noticing you have both Hanley and Rollins on your roster. Hmm. Two studs at one position, got a hole at another, what to do?
I don't see anyone at 3B the equivalent of Rollins. Might shop him around and see if anyone bites, but you might have better luck doing the unthinkable - deal Hanley. i would think you could get ARod straight up, but in a keeper league you're the loser there. I'd target Wright plus a little something.
If a suitable trade doesn't come along, can you get your hands on Ian Stewart?
Dude, it doesn't look like you need much of a 3rd baseman with the rest of your offense in tact. Both Fielder and Rollins offer a ton of upside at the utility spots, Delgado could be moved without any real loss - but he won't bring Youklis. You have some nice young arms, but I think I'd look to see who is available in the draft before I made a move. Just find someone who won't hurt you and you should be good to go on the offensive side.
How about trying to trade Delgado for someone like Zimmerman or Gordon. I know in a keeper people may be reluctant to part with these youngsters but if someone needs some power they may bite. The other option may be to trade Rollins as mentioned above but then again you arent going to find much of an equivalent for him. Maybe Rollins for Atkins and a prospect?
Any thoughts on mine...you can skip the beginning and just start with my second to last post in the thread if you like...THANKS! viewtopic.php?t=367568&start=10
I wouldn't trade any of your starting pitchers. Sheets just had surgery and McGowen had surgery last year and may not be back for quite awhile. Since you have many 1st basemen and an extra shortstop , I would put Rollins and maybe Delgado on the trading block and see what kind of offers you get.
you have 4 1B and 2 SS. So the first thing I would do is look over the other rosters and find the teams that have multiple 3B and see who on your roster would match up those teams with multiple 3B. If you posted those teams rosters we could help line up better answers.
Can you sign FA's now? If you are able to sign FA's I would look to sign the top one just so that you are protected if you can not work out a trade and so that when you look to trade you are not desperate and the other manager is able to take advantage of you.
Trading Rollins makes the roster too slow - just find a player that won't hurt you to play 3rd, maybe Delgado could bring you Beltre or Gordon or Cantu or Huff or Mora.
