What's is this I hear about you trying to experiment with the Mets lineup?
per Rotowire:
Manager Jerry Manuel dropped a bombshell in the middle of his first news conference of the spring, saying he hopes to experiment with using Luis Castillo in the leadoff spot over Reyes, in order to jump-start Castillo, the NY Post reports. Spin: In this scenario, Castillo would bat leadoff followed by Carlos Beltran, Reyes in the three-hole, David Wright at clean-up and Carlos Delgado fifth. Manuel is trying to preach team over individual statistics, but we can't see Reyes being enamored with this change. In addition, Manuel has not yet spoken with Reyes, who is due in camp next week, but may be looking to appease him by giving him more control defensively in aligning the other infielders and working with the pitchers. That said offensively, in a late-inning of a close game, who would you rather seeing leading off, Castillo or Reyes? If Manager Jerry Manuel's lineup change, where he moves Luis Castillo and Jose Reyes to third, comes to fruition, Beltran would move up to the two-hole, the NY Post reports. Spin: Many have felt that the two-hole is the best position in the batting order for Beltran, given his power-speed combination. However, given Castillo's recent struggles and the likelihood of the eight and nine hitters not doing much for the Mets, Beltran would likely see a decline in RBI but rise in runs if this change plays out.
How worried should Reyes owners, and Beltran owners for that matter be about this?
Here's to you, Mr. Robinson. Jesus loves you more than you Cano.

Well, this all changes as soon as Castillo gets hurt anyway, so I think it's kind of a mute point. Sure, all the fantasy buffs are going to be torqued off that Reyes prolly won't steal 60 bags (or anywhere near that) from the 3 hole, but honestly I have no problem with that lineup. He will certainly get a lot more RBI opps knocking in Castillo and Beltran, than the Mets' catching duo and the likes of Daniel Murphy
the only downside to this equation is that reyes sbs will suffer a little but not much well have to keep an eye on this situation heading into the season

If he stays in the 3 hole I think he will see a definite drop in overall value in my opinion. 60+ steals 110+ runs reyes is worth a lot, 40+ steals 100+ runs reyes not so much. Could being in the 3 hole drop his stolen base value that much? Maybe, maybe not, but its still something to keep in mind.
