My second year playing, ROTO 5x5 last year, this year we are going with 6x6 adding OBP and innings pitched. Pitching also changed in that we now must have 6 starters and 3 relievers in active line-up(last year was any combo). This basically eliminates the set up role I assume...as you would obviously want 6 starters any 3 closers active at all times.
We also have 2 utility players(any pos but pitcher), last year we had MI and CI.
Just wanted opinions on any obvious strategies that I should be using during the draft taking into account the new rules.

I don't get it, out of all the 6th cat choices for pitching why go with IP? So I'm guessing no max limit for the season either, is there a min? How many players are in this league? My guess is every team is going to be drafting SPs left and right, since the IP cat will give them more value and you have the option of starting 6 on your roster.
OBP as a cat favors the sluggers more, as they're the one's who tend to lead this category. Just watch out on drafting high BA players with low OBP (Pedroia, Ichiro etc). They lose some value in this format.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

daily line-ups, 12 team league..5 transactions a week
I normally wait until the middle rounds for pitching, should I be picking starters earlier now?

I think what will ultimately be the fatal in this design is that it rewards streaming to chase W's, K's, and IP. So to stay competitive in those cats you would need to spend all 5 transactions a week on pitching. Just doesn't sound like fun. It's not in any way a performance-related cat, why use it? It would be like plate appearances as a cat for hitters.
