Want to cut an OF

Postby Tenacious D-Store » Sun Feb 15, 2009 2:21 am

I let 3rd base fall a bit too far in one of my early drafts this season and wound up with Melvin Mora. I want to back him up with Blake Dewitt for lack of better options. I have a plethora of outfielders and only need to start 3.

I have Sizemore, Quentin, Vlad, Hawpe, Pence and Chris Young.

This is a H2H points based league so BA isn't quite as important as homers and run production. I don't know if Hawpe will be permitted to go up against Lefties so he , and Young are the two I am considering dropping. Just looking for thoughts before making a move.

Keep Young... he is still 25 and the whole DBacks lineup should improve upon last year

Hawpe's a better guy to keep I think by a long shot over CYoung.

Depending on how deep the league is, I would keep all the OFs over a backup 3B, since all the guys you listed are definitely rosterable. I would aggressively try to trade an OF for a 3B, though. See if the guys that have A-Rod, M-Cab, Wright and A-Ram have a good second 3B that you might be able to trade for.
