Searchable Stat database

Postby Galileo » Sun Feb 15, 2009 1:57 am

Can anyone point me in the direction of a statistics database that can be searched using a combination of multiple search criteria?

Not sure what you are looking for but espn.com has a decent number of filter options.

I was looking for a tool that for example would allow one to pull up a list of all players in 2008 that hit 20+ HRs, had 10+ SBs, and hit 0.280+ or whatever set of criteria you might establish. Rotochamps used to have such a tool with their stat wizzard, but it seems their site has undergone an overhaul and seems to be offline for now.

go copy/paste 2008 stats from doug's stats
http://www.dougstats.com/

in excel just sort and do something like selectively highlight players that meet certain criteria or gray out players that don't. not exactly as jazzy as a web app would be, but you can manipulate the stats any way you want

You can also download the stats into Excel and then use autofilter.
