ESPN Divisions?

Postby daisukedicek » Sat Feb 14, 2009 5:42 pm

On the espn.com fantasy site, it gives you the option of creating divisions in your h2h league. As my league is currently set up, there are two divisions of 5 teams each. Four teams make the playoffs. Does anyone know if the divisions impact playoff eligibility/seeding? For example, say Division 1 has all four of the league's best teams. Is it those four that make the playoffs? Is it the top three and the winner of Division 2? Is it the top 2 from each division? ESPN's official rules are very vague and unhelpful.

The 2 division champs are seeds 1 and 2, then it's the next two best records regardless of division. So, it could be 3 teams from division 1 and only 1 team from division 2.

What aplviper said is correct, but as LM you also have the ability to edit the playoff matchups.

If you have a rule that the top two finishers from each division go to the playoffs no matter what, but ESPN puts three teams from one division in the playoffs, you can go in an manually replace the third team with the second team from the other division.

Or if you want it to be top four overall and somehow four teams in one division all wind up with better records than every team in the other division, you can even replace the division champ of the weaker division with the fourth team from the stronger division. However, this scenario is highly unlikely.
