Am I Crazy??? Wieters Question.

I play in a keeper league, keep 10 – no restrictions.
Vanilla 5x5, mixed, roto.

The first pick will be pick 101 – I want to trade for that pick and get Wieters.

I have Jose Reyes at SS and Figgins at 2B.

Am I crazy to trade Alexei Ramirez for the #1 pick?

I really believe in Wieters and think that a great hitting Catcher is a huge plus.

Is Alexei Ramirez too much, considering my infield, for Matt Wieters?

yeah imo it is crazy to trade Alexei for Wieters at this point.

Yup, I would say Crazy but I see your thinking in that Wieters would probably be a better keeper after this year. Alexei is going to be a top 3 2B tho this year imo and that makes you getting rid of him crazy because 2B and SS are thin also. The only thing to consider is ALexei is going to play SS so he will not have 2B eligibility next year, and that makes trading him more rational considering you have Reyes. Does it make it worth taking a chance on an unknown in Wieters...not so sure. Look at other top picks...sometimes they dont pan out right away (i.e. Delmon Young, Grienke)...plus if you want a catcher for this year Wieters may not work as I saw yesterday that he is likely to start in the minors since he only played A ball last year...and it will depend on how their catcher situation is looking with Zaun's play/Wieters play at AAA, etc. as to whether he comes up early at all.
